Beep Beep!

Whoever invented the Cozy Coupe sure knew what he/she was doing. This thing attracts kids like a magnet, regardless of the color. Harrison was sure to get his turn at our latest playgroup meeting!

Shoes

Harrison is now walking 99% of the time, so Lina asked if she could take him to actually play at the playground, instead of just watching. This, of course, meant he needed to wear shoes! He wasn't too sure about them at first, but he adjusted quickly (and a special thanks to the Reyes Ohana for his cool Crocs).

New Friends

Our friends, Jeff and Elena, came over for dinner with their baby girl, Amelia. She is 3.5 months old and both boys were taken with her. Hayden kept commenting on the "sweet little baby" and getting down to chat with her. Amelia, for her part, didn't really seem to know what to make of the two rambunctious boys, but she kept her cool.

Roadblock

The boys and I set out for a playdate and decided to take our usual shortcut to get there. After we had already started down, I noticed we might have a bit of a problem. For whatever reason, there was nothing posted at the top on our side, only on the opposite side. I thought going around wouldn't present too much of a problem, and for Hayden, it was fine. For me, with Harrison in the stroller, it was a bit more difficult, especially since it had just rained and I managed to step into the marshy bit of the hill. Yuck! Guess we won't be taking the shortcut anytime soon.

Bath Buddies

Organization

Hayden's friend, Judd, stopped by for an impromptu playdate this morning. I was in the other room, listening to them playing and chattering and smiling to myself that they seemed to be having such a good time. Little did I know what they were truly up to...

Shakin' It

Ok, it's not a picture, but I think you'll enjoy it anyway.

Busted!

Our hutch has been emptied out in anticipation of being picked up for repairs, one of which will be to fix the latch so that the door shuts properly. Harrison likes to bang on the door of the hutch, but it seems he figured out how to climb into it this morning. Of course I had to take a few pictures before escorting him out of it!

Dog Pile!

Matt has been teaching Hayden the art of dog piling. In turn, Hayden has been practicing as much as possible on his brother, mother and dog! Luckily, Harrison gets a kick out of it as much as Hayden does.

Geronimo!

Our friends had their old pack 'n play set up in their living room, right next to their couch. Hayden and Judd were loving jumping into it and then climbing back out to do it all again. Harrison insisted in being in on the fun as well.

Biker Chick

This is my friend, Martha. She lives outside of camp (her husband is a contractor) and often rides her bike in. She usually rides without a bike helmet, which we always give her a hard time about (she claims she has a hard time finding one that fits over her hair). Recently, Martha started riding a motorbike and thankfully, her husband insists she wear a helmet (plus it's required within camp). She modeled her new look for us one Monday at Mah Jong, so I had to take a picture!

Duck Tail

Harrison's hair is slowly coming in. He has two spots where he has the most hair - on the top, where it's basically like a mohawk, and at the very back/bottom, where he has these two little locks that curl up. We call it his duck tail. It'll be interesting to see if it grows into a real curl or not.

Uh Oh!

Uh oh! is one of Harrison's favorite phrases. The facial expression that goes with it is priceless.

Sharing

Every so often we catch Hayden and Harrison playing nicely together. This was one of those times; I guess the book has enough flaps for them to share it without a problem. For now anyway...

Wheeeeee!

Whenever possible, one or both of the boys like to catch a ride in the laundry basket!

Push

Harrison thinks playing with the big water dispenser bottles is fun. He actually pushed these across the kitchen floor all by himself!

Drool

Harrison actually doesn't drool that much, but you'd never know that by looking at the waterfall he's got going on here!

Taking Turns

Sharing and taking turns are ongoing lessons in our house. Especially when there is a new toy or book with cool sound effects.

The yummy cake that was part of my birthday dinner that Matt arranged at a Mexican restaurant in Jakarta.

Racing!

Hayden had a great time playing with Sofia, Luca's older sister, while we were in Jakarta. We spent over 3 hours at Lollipop, a huge play area at one of the malls, and the two of them were basically inseparable. Hayden now calls Sofia, who is 15 days older than he, "my girl".

Say Ahhhh!

This hippo resides at the Taman Safari, which is about 1.5 hours from Jakarta. It's a drive thru park, where the animals come right up to your car, most likely looking for food. As you can see, this hippo has been fed its fair share of carrots. The safari was a lot of fun and the boys both loved it.

Big Foot

This is Luca, the 2 month old son of my friend, Heidi. The shoes he's wearing look like little sneakers and it was only when I went to snap this picture that I noticed that they have footprints on the soles. I just laughed because he's so little and the shoes/feet look so big.

I Can Do It!

One of Hayden's newest mantra's is "I can do it by myself!" Chopsticks are still a bit tricky for him, but he enjoyed trying. Still, I think most of the tofu was consumed using his fingers!

Look Out!

Basically, the sign says "vicious dog alert!" Yes, it's on the gate going to our yard, and yes, it pertains to Bob. Matt thought it would be funny to put on there, but the funny thing is to see how many people - men and women - back up or run back up the walkway when little ole Bob comes out. Sure, he barks a lot, but he's far from vicious (and do you like our peeling paint on the gate? It's only a few months old and has already been painted twice. Nothing like quality craftsmanship...).

Tower

I went to a baby shower today and one of the decorations/gifts was this diaper cake. From the back, it looked a bit like a tower, so I thought I would post it to go with today's theme.

Tools of the Trade

I'm a mom and these are definitely tools of my trade: DIAPERS!!!!!!!!!!!! (nope, this isn't even the entire stash...)

Time

This is the clock Matt received for his 10 year anniversary with Chevron (he's at 12 years this month). It's a chiming clock, but it's not one of the obnoxiously loud ones; in fact, we're so used to it that we often don't notice it anymore. However, we've recently starting using the clock as a way for Hayden to know when it's time for him to get ready for bed. He doesn't really have a concept of time yet, but he knows when the clock goes "ding dong ding dong", it's time for him to go night-night.

Travels

I've spent a good portion of the last few days trying to figure out flights for our trip to Colorado and Hawaii at the end of May. It seemed only fitting to snap a picture of our travel books. These are all places we've been and I hope to add to the collection quite a bit while we're in Duri. And, yes, we have a book for Indonesia, but it's on loan at the moment.

Kiss Kiss

Harrison has learned to give kisses! He leans in with his mouth puckered (ok, sometimes it's open and a bit sloppy) and plants a big one! He even makes a little "mmmmmmm" sounds to go along with it. Needless to say, he is being asked for a lot of kisses these days!

Bubbles

Today was playgroup day and we met at one of the playgrounds instead of a home. We do this every few weeks and the kids love it, even though they tend to do their own thing at the playground. Except when the bubbles come out. Then everyone congregates near the bubble person, chasing and popping bubbles, and waiting (im)patiently for a chance to blow their own bubbles.
